Gear

So this page is more of a workbook than anything else. As I find and refine my gear list I’m also packing bags to see what items should go where. The first bag on this list is a hiking pack I picked up almost 10 years ago with the intention of using it as a “Go Bag” – packed with just the essentials should I need to pick up and leave wherever at a moments notice. It would be nice if this was all I needed to bring, but as The Adventure is meant to be an elective trip, I’ll be bringing a bit more than I need! My father used to say one should never own more than you can fit on a camels back. I don’t know if you’ve ever packed a camel but you can actually load quite a bit onto those majestic beasts! In this case I’m inclined to agree, but the camel is a motorcycle and it won’t complain if it’s overloaded. Ha.

Outbound Assault 65

Almost full! The idea for this bag is to carry all the camping infrastructure – with supplies and tools packed separately. Bonus it comes with a built-in rain fly!
